South West London Counselling
in Richmond, Surrey
A place to feel heard with Debera Dias

Welcome to South West London Counselling…

Thank you for consulting my site. I am an approachable integrative counsellor/psychotherapist, based in Richmond, TW9. accessible for Surrey or South West London residents.

I believe that we each hold the key answers within, yet sometimes we feel unable to connect with our true self and move forward. Perhaps your coping strategies are no longer effective, leaving you feeling stuck. Therefore turning to therapy may prove insightful as you begin to understand yourself better and recognise how things may be approached differently.

I work by blending Humanistic, Psychodynamic, CBT and T.A. theories allowing for a unique blend adapted to each individual client and their specific needs. I have gained valuable experience in a varied range of issues, through working as a volunteer for several mainstream charities, including RB MIND, RCPS and Brent Bereavement Services.

I now work in private practice offering a caring, yet flexible approach, trusting and believing in the ability of a client to find their path. I maintain a keen interest in self esteem and inner confidence, depression (see depression article), anxiety, relationships and how to salvage them using greater communication skills, as well as separation or divorce issues, (see article), (one to one only). I also work with feeling a loss of direction, from new graduates through to the retired looking at creating change in your life, with many years experience in the delicate area of bereavement, additional areas are listed below.

I personally believe that the process of therapy encourages welcome change. Feeling heard and having your story validated enables one to recognise what we feel we need from life, how to cope in the face of adversity, or how to achieve a different outcome. Gaining insight as a result of therapy facilitates one to feel more positive and less overwhelmed.

My Life-Coaching skills encourage motivation as clients recognise that destiny is not simply a matter of chance, but more about challenging limiting beliefs. There is also an option of setting reachable attainable goals, should a client wish to.
